I in Aug 1861 at age 40; mortally wounded at the Battle of Murfreesboro (Stones River), Dec 31, 1862; Died Jan 19, 1863 of pneumonia; Buried at Lebanon Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring Garden, Ala.
