Enlisted August 12, 1861. Captured at Missionary Ridge, November 25, 1863, and imprisoned at Rock Island IL. Died there Christmas Day, 1864. Grave #1710 in the Confederate cemetery at Rock Island.

Shot in leg at Chickamauga. Died of wound in hospital in Atlanta October 22, 1863. Buried in Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta GA.
