[Capt. Hanby]

Capt. William Felix Hanby, Co. C (Post-war Photo taken in 1865)

Born January 6, 1831 in Pinson, AL, wife Martha Jane Hagood and six children. Severely wounded in the left shoulder at the Battle of Shiloh. Above photo was taken when he was Sheriff of Jefferson County, AL.

[Sgt. Doss]

SGT (James) Ambrose Doss, Co. C

Born July 29, 1823, wife Sarah and eight children. Wounded in the head on April 7, 1862, at the Battle of Shiloh. Promoted to Fifth Sergeant. Killed on July 5, 1864 by a direct hit of a cannonball in the chest about 1 p.m. on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Was buried within 100 yds of the river on the West side with his name, rank, company, and regiment cut into a living tree.

Enlisted Aug 12, 1861, Mt Pinson, Ala; wounded in the Battles of Atlanta. Post-war (1896) photo with his second wife Hannah Rebecca McCombs.

Enlisted Feb 11, 1864. Served to surrender.

[Pvt. Vann]

PVT Samuel King Vann, Co. C

1845-1869
Joined Co. C in 1863 at the age of 18. Survived the war only to die at the age of 24.
